Tiran Group was founded in 1996 in Bakunge, Bone Regency under the name CV. Empos Tyrant. The name Tiran is an abbreviation of Rat Poisoned by Amran which was created by Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P., Founder of Tiran Group.
Since 2018, Tiran Group has developed into a holding company that oversees several companies operating in many sectors such as nickel mining, distributors, livestock, plantations and expeditions.

Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, MP is an entrepreneur who started a business from the ground up. Creating an innovative rat poison led him to become a successful and respected entrepreneur. After a 15 year career at BUMN, he started to set up his own company. Andi Amran Sulaiman struggled hard and went around introducing his findings related to agriculture.
One successful work, he creates other innovations. He created various solutions to increase agricultural productivity. Starting from how to deal with rat pests, making pesticides, and dealing with other pests. One of them is preventing rat pest attacks and getting patent rights.
After working his way through the business world, he was given the opportunity to handle the strategic sector in Indonesia, namely the agricultural sector. From 2014 to 2019 Andi Amran Sulaiman was appointed to head the Ministry of Agriculture by President Joko Widodo.
Tiran Group Business continues to develop its business and expand its business fields; pesticide producers, palm oil plantations, sugar cane, cashew nuts, the largest sugar factory in Eastern Indonesia, nickel mines, smelters, gold mines and gas stations.
Under the leadership of Andi Amran Sulaiman, Tiran Group became a socially oriented business giant driven through the Andi Amran Sulaiman Foundation (AAS Foundation). Tiran Group is transforming into a company that has social awareness which aims to support increasing human resource capacity and become a shared home that provides quality training and education facilities for more youth to create classy entrepreneurs and workers who are ready to drive change in Indonesia.
He ended his tenure as the Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2015-2020 period. Born in Lumban Bulbul, Balige, North Sumatra in 1960, he joined Tiran Group as the Director of Finance in March 2020. He graduated from STAN Jakarta with a major in accounting in 1989 and earned a Master's degree in Accounting from The University of Denver, USA, in 1993. Serving the country for 38 years, he held various positions and assignments since his first duty at BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency). He participated in audit training both domestically and internationally (in Washington, Melbourne, Pittsburg, London, Sydney, and Den Haag). He also served as a part-time lecturer at various universities in Jakarta and Bogor.
